Father, we bring our governors, congressmen, and our city county mayors before You today, based on 1 Timothy 2:1-2, which says we must pray for all those in authority that we may live a peaceable and quiet life, in all godliness and holiness. We pray first and foremost that they would serve with the fear and reverence of the Lord (Ps. 2:10-11).

We thank You that their heart is like a stream of water, and You turn it toward You (Proverbs 21:1).

We ask You to turn the ear of our governor, congressmen and mayors to You each day that they will apply Your wisdom to every decision they make (Proverbs 2:1-8).

We ask that You remove all selfish ambition from their heart, that You cause them to walk in the wisdom that comes from You alone which is pure, peace-loving, gentle, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere (James 3:15-17).

May they display high moral integrity and character in every decision they make. Remind them of why they ran for office. Remind them of their commitment to build a better, safer dwelling place over the location which they serve.

We ask if there are any who do not know You, that they would turn their heart to You and serve You in their personal life as well as their political life.

If there are any that will not bow their knee to You, remove them God and put men and wom-en who walk in godly righteousness in their place. Cause them to truly desire the best inter-est of the people of their state.

Surround them with a godly, praying, staff who will hold up their arms in difficult times (Proverbs 11:14).

We ask for praying leaders–for spiritually mature leaders who will worship You and praise You, in spirit and in truth. Who will seek You for council and direction and then will quickly obey Your voice. We ask that they will hear YOUR voice above all other voices that are speaking to them. We pray that they will make no unholy alliances and any currently in place will be severed. When they speak to their people, may the words of their mouth be by the power of the Spirit.

God we ask that our elected and non-elected officials would not be allowed to overreach in their authority. Let them not abuse their power. We decree, they will daily uphold our free-dom and our constitutional rights.

Father, we ask if any begin to have selfish ambitions and attempt to demolish our rights, that You would quickly remove them from office.

Father we thank You for hearing and answering our prayer for our leaders. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. We decree, You are God over our state and our city – may we be continually blessed (Psalm 33:12).
