There is more involved in this contest than is realized by everyone. There is involved in this struggle the question whether your children and my children shall enjoy the privileges we have enjoyed.
—Abraham Lincoln (Speech to 164th Ohio Regiment, Aug 22, 1864)
Will our children—will their children—enjoy the privileges and freedom we have enjoyed? Or is America, as we know it, on the brink of extinction?
While I believe the battle for America’s freedom is much darker than in the days of Lincoln, the battle to preserve our land and freedom has always existed. Why? Because at the root is a battle between light and darkness, good vs. evil. Ultimately it is Satan’s attempt to overthrow God from this nation, which was based on the His Word, the Bible. One only has to read through our Constitution, Bill of Rights or the comments and biographies of the signers of the Constitution to recognize that Barak Obama’s statement and sentiment from 2009 were wrong when he said, “Although, as I mentioned, we have a very large Christian population, we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation.”
Says who?
J. Randy Forbes, asked an important question not long after “So, if America was birthed upon Judeo-Christian principles, at what point in time did our nation cease to be Judeo-Christian?”
There has always been a Remnant within America who hold tightly to the Judeo-Christian values upon which we were established. That Remnant is growing rapidly. Will America remain the land of the free and the home of the brave? It really depends upon us. Benjamin Franklin was asked, “Have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” his famous reply, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
May we keep it.
Father, as America approaches 248 years as a Republic, we are on tenuous ground. We have lost our way and fallen short of our call. We have gone from the most prosperous nation in the world, under Your blessing, to a nation fallen into moral depravity and corruption teetering on collapse. As Your Remnant, we continue to humble ourselves before You. We repent for the sins of our nation and the sin that has been sanctioned and then protected by laws put into place by judges and elected officials with no moral conscious. But we declare they do not represent us. We declare we will keep this Republic—with Your help.
This week, we the Remnant, City–by–City intercessors, link arms with the many other intercessors around this nation and the world as we pray for America—the land we love—the land You love. We are too far gone Lord to see things turn around by our hands, but they can by Yours. It’s always been about a turn around by Your hand so that all will see and know that You are Lord over America.
We pray a hedge of protection around America, our cities and citizens from any terrorist attack or assassination attempt, especially anything designed to disrupt this week’s focus on freedom. May any attempt to cause harm, and takeover our nation be discovered and stopped before it can launch.
Even now within our America are many who have fallen under the strong delusion, which you allowed, that they should believe the lie that the United States is and always has been evil. We pray that the revisionist history taught to our children and by the media, would be silenced. May our history not be erased—both good and bad. While they love to exalt the bad, there has been much good. May it not be forgotten, erased, or rewritten. May our children and their children, learn and understand the sacrifices made over the last 250 years so they could live in this nation and freedom that has been taken for granted.
Lord we thank You for America—and that we have survived for another year. May we not just survive this next year, but may Your Spirit be poured out in such a way that repentance will overtake our churches, homes and every aspect. May hearts be changed so that the moral depravity that has been accepted will be resoundly rejected as people cry out for You. For You did not call us to impurity but to holiness. May there be a national turn back to holiness and purity. A return to whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—for anything excellent or praiseworthy—that we would think, pursue and follow after those things as a nation—and follow after You.
We declare as we enter America’s 249th year, that we will remain the land of the free and the home of the brave. That those who fought for our freedom will not have fought in vain. That those who sacrificed—many their very lives—will not have sacrificed in vain.
Lord heal our land. Heal our hearts. Show up as the mighty God and Creator of the Universe, as we call upon Your Name.
