This past week I meditated what Jesus endured during His last week leading up to the crucifixion. What transpired those three days where His body was dead, but He was in battle? Gloating by those who felt they had triumphed, but shock, sorrow and despair from those who served Him and loved Him. And yet much was happening in the spirit realm that they couldn’t see. Nonetheless it was setting them free.
Ps 68:20 says, “God is a God of deliverances (His saving acts) and to God the Lord belong escapes from death.” Ps 91:3 it tells us, “Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler. ” What’s a “fowler?” Thy were the ones who trapped doves as food for caged animals or sold them for sacrifices. Yet God delivers us from the snare of the fowler! Ponder that for a moment!
Right now our greatest battle is in the mind. When we feed on the news, what we see or hear rather than taking it to the Word (the ultimate Truth) it will certainly create fear. Make it your habit to refuse fear and taking hold of the Word. May it be the first thing out of our mouths in every situation! For it is our firm foundation and the rock on which we stand! God is our deliverer and we will see the salvation of the Lord and the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Let us fix our eyes not on what can be seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Father God we thank You that You are a God of deliverances and we WILL see Your saving acts. That you deliver us from the snare of of the fowler. You shatter the people who delight in war! You have commanded our strength in times of trouble and will show Yourself strong and act on our behalf.
Be gracious to us and bless us, Lord. Cause Your face to shine upon us that Your way may be known on the earth and Your salvation among all nations. We will praise You O Lord. Let ALL the people praise You. Deliver us O Lord so that the nations are glad and sing for joy. For You will judge the people with uprightness and guide the nations on the earth. Let all the people praise You.
Despite their attempt to create famine and damage the food and water, the earth will yield its produce! Bless us O Lord, bless us so that all the ends of the earth may fear You! May those who wait for You not be ashamed. Draw near to us. Draw near to our soul and redeem it. Ransom (release, rescue and sever) us because of our enemies!
