The Capitol building (pictured) is divided with the branch of the Senate on one side and the House of Representatives on the other. I heard the Holy Spirit emphasize—it is divided. (As is our nation.) The Word tells us a house divided cannot stand (Matt 12:25).
However, even as I thought of that scripture I heard the Lord remind me, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
God is indeed doing a new thing and 2023 is a year He will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
Kevin McCarthy finally won his bid as US House Speaker after 15 ballots. The media criticized and mocked the 3 day process, but in actuality we were watching what makes our nation great as negotiations took place so that everyone had a voice and had to come to a consensus to come to agreement in a vote. For the last two years the Biden administration has pushed things through via Executive Order and/or their bullying by the House. Perhaps people have forgotten what it looks like to actually have negotiations and hammering out a solution to come to agreement.
That being said, thank God it was resolved in three days as there was an urgency to get a Speaker elected as real business couldn’t begin until a Speaker was determined and the new rules adopted. Until that was in place, the rights of members to introduce bills and the authority of the speaker to refer them could not move forward.
McCarthy vowed that the House Republicans’ first bill will be to repeal funding for 87,000 new IRS agents which many, we learned, have received firearm training. They try to remove our rights to bear arms as they arm these agents who are supposed to be crunching numbers not threatening people. If the Republicans will unify with their slim majority in the House, perhaps they can begin to get some of the outrageous spending and failed immigration policies, put in place by Biden’s crew, rolled back. Honestly there is so much to do, it would be hard to know where to start. They need our prayers.
Jim Jordan (OH) was named to head the Select Committee on The Weaponization of the Federal Government which would be tasked with probing the federal government’s information collection on private individuals as well as its ongoing criminal investigations. This would potentially include the Department of Justice’s probe into classified documents at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate.
Speaking of classified documents, ironically this past week we learned that Biden had been caught with classified documents from his time as Vice President in two different unauthorized locations—perhaps more. Remember how the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago when they said Trump had classified docs? Remember when Hillary’s possession of classified docs was ignored?
Initially, the US Attorney General said he would “consider” whether to investigate Biden over this discovery (which by the way, was discovered BEFORE the mid-terms, but was kept from the American public until now.) With this second discovery of even more classified documents at a second location, the Attorney General could no longer sweep it under the rug. Many questions arise which we have no answers for…let’s pray the truth comes out.
There is lots to pray about as usual.
Father in Heaven, we come before your gates with thanksgiving and your courts with praise. We honor YOU as the Creator and the great I AM. Thank you that You are in control. For we would have despaired unless we believed we would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. But we DO believe which is why we continue to pray and come before You as the righteous Judge to petition for righteousness and truth to prevail.
As the US House convenes under Speaker McCarthy’s leadership, Father we pray he would use his authority for good and not for evil. That he would be a man of godly conviction without wavering. Give him wisdom and courage for we know what is at the top will always filter down.
We pray for all of those who are called by Your name who fill the House and the Senate that they would not be moved, threatened, blackmailed or tricked to join with ungodly legislation. Let them remain steadfast. We pray protection over them and their families. Strengthen their arms as we pray for them and help them to hear Your voice and stand fast for righteousness. Strengthen them. For those who have no moral compass and are simply in it for themselves, even those Lord, we pray would be compelled to vote for righteous decrees as we pray for the fear of the Lord to come upon our elected officials.
May we see ungodly legislation and Executive Orders repealed and replaced with godly, righteous laws. We pray for unity in our Republican leadership and that those who are charlatans will continue to be exposed. May they be unable to usurp the authority of the people they represent, but hold them in check Holy Spirit.
We lift up Rep Jim Jordan and his appointment to the newly formed Select Committee on The Weaponization of the Federal Government. We ask that you would guide all who are put on that committee and they would actually be able to get something done to stop the weaponization of the 3-letter agencies. We know too much now Lord to cover our eyes. You see the corruption, the illegalities, the lies. You said You would deliver us from evil. We pray that this committee would be the beginning of that process and that you would exalt the righteous and remove the wicked.
We pray regarding the information of classified documents found in unauthorized locations of Biden’s think tanks and his garage! You see the injustice of how they treated Trump compared to how they treated Hillary and now Biden. Father we come before You as the Righteous Judge and declare that even the unjust judge gave the widow woman justice, how much more will our Father in Heaven give justice to His children! We call forth justice and just decrees and that the two-tiered “justice” system that has prevailed will crumble. We ask that what has been hidden would be made known and that the leaders and media, who kept this information from the American people until after the mid-terms would be held accountability for their detestable and deceptive actions.
We have seen that when the earth experiences Your judgments the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. But even when the wicked are shown favor, they do not learn righteousness but continue to deal unjustly in the land of uprightness. They do not perceive the majesty of the Lord. So we declare in agreement with Your Word that the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful torn from it. But may the righteous never be removed. Bring revival Lord to our nation as we cry out to You.
