If you love America and desire to see our country protected for the sake of our children and grandchildren, then this week’s prayer is very important. Too often people unknowingly, throw away their vote because of three primary reasons:
1. People simply don’t vote. Not to vote IS a vote —giving it to the other side. Even if there isn’t a “great” candidate, pray and ask God for His insight on who would do better.
2. People don’t know who to vote for—and as a result don’t vote. This is essentially the same as #1. It leaves important positions up for grabs. Agreed we don’t want to guess or just vote based on the letter beside a candidate’s name. That no longer is always a true representation of what they believe. So what is the alternative? Research. If you don’t have time to do your own research at least go to websites where you can trust their research. Two examples are: TruetheVote.com or i-voterguide.com.
(NOTE: If you are in Oklahoma, I send out voter guide recommendations. If you would like to sign up click here.)
3. People take offense and vote from emotions.
This is the worst way to vote…and many don’t even realize they are doing it. It’s where the “Never Trumpers” were birthed. (Note: I was a “Never Trumper” before that term was coined. But God opened my eyes. So I am NOT condemning anyone who fell or falls into that category! I’m just saying there is more behind when we take offense than we realize!
(Note: If interested I share the story in my book, “Infected.” You can read ch. 1 free by clicking here.)
The Democrats have become masters at stating a lie to stir emotions for “justice” to goad us into voting out a strong Republican. Voters believe it is righteous indignation, but actually, too often, they have believed a lie. People hear the lie, become angered, accept it and vote out the godly candidate based on a strategic campaign of deception. We MUST do research!
Offense always works with its twin deception. It makes us think we are standing for “righteousness” but in fact, we have taken the bait of the lie, opened the door to offense firmly convinced that we are standing for truth. In Oklahoma I watched it play out regarding the election for the Attorney General. Sadly the result is we now have a Democrat, who ran as a Republican, about to enter office. It’s close to happening again in the vote for governor. People need to wake up and first realize there are no perfect candidates. Sometimes, we may find ourselves voting for the candidate that more closely aligns with Christian values—-even if they have done things that we would have preferred they didn’t. We must also realize that lies are being poured out like water. Let’s not be goaded into voting wrong—or not voting at all.
I’m going to make some people mad over this next statement, but you can’t vote Democrat anymore at all. Because even “moderate” Democrats are eventually bullied into standing with their Party and their Party is as far away from biblical values as it gets. Now that is NOT to applaud the Republican Party—which has PLENTY of issues.
A more recent Democrat strategy, over the last few years, is to have candidates run as Republicans so they can be elected and then push through Democrat ideals. So we must be discerning and alert.
We must also pray to break the power of the “Offended Observer” the Left has utilized for the last several years. The “Offended Observer” is a calculated strategy against Christian principles by radical liberals to claim they were “offended” at a public expression of support for prayer or Christian values. I.E.—A display of The Ten Commandments, prayer at sporting events, saying “Merry Christmas,” etc. Anti-Christian activists are always waiting in the wings to make the “offended observer” claim to whittle away OUR rights as a Christian nations via legal action. This strategy needs to be stopped and dismantled along with their shame game to force us to “accept” homosexuality, illegal immigrants pouring across our borders, abortion, etc.
Refuse offense. Stand firm in love. Be courageous for truth.
Father, we come before You and repent for anywhere we have allowed offense to deceptively come in, cloud our vision through pride hiding as “righteous indignation.” Forgive us. We also pray on behalf of our city, state and nation that the spirit of offense and deception that have been unleashed by the spirit of pride will be vanquished and dismantled and that the veil of deception will be removed and eyes opened all over our nation to see and know the truth—especially as we head toward the mid-terms. Unite us Lord as Christians first and Americans second to stand fast for truth and refuse to let go.
We pray over our voting machines and elections that they will be fair and that any corruption and illegalities through the voting machines, mail-in ballots and counts will be blocked by the spirit and thus in the natural. We bind corruption and any plan to steal this election or any seat.
Father give us wisdom and insight to know the truth from a lie and know who to vote for. Wisdom to choose not just by what they say, but by what they do and who THEY vote for. We pray godly men and women into office who will stand for Bible-based values and for the rights of American citizens according to our Constitution. We pray that we will not moved by our emotions, but that we operate from wisdom and with wise counsel. For in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
You said a wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left. We pray for eyes to be opened to this truth even as it applies to our own nation and political parties.
Father we break the power of the “offended observer” strategy and declare that it will no longer be effective as a strategy in our courts, in our schools, in our cities. We pray that no longer will this nation bow to the dictates of the offended, but instead that we can stand for Christian values publicly and boldly.
You said hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses. We bind the spirit of offense and deception and the spirit of pride from which they come. We declare it will not reign in America and that the strategy to stir up strife and offense among believers or create offended observers will be stopped.
We declare that ONE offended observer will no longer be able to steal the rights we were afforded in our Constitution to pray and worship God. We declare that America will be saved and that revival has begun!
