This is an important week from a historical perspective as we watch God’s timeline of events both past and present.
In the days of Moses it was the week in which the Israelites, freed from the slavery of Egypt, found themselves trapped with the Red Sea in front of them and Pharaoh’s armies coming behind them. There seemed to be no escape.
It is also the same time frame in history in which Jesus had risen from the dead. He was beginning to appear to the disciples, to the men on the road to Emmaus, to Mary at the tomb. He was revealing to them that their slavery to sin had been paid. They believed they would receive freedom from the Roman government, but what they received was far greater.
With that in mind, what does this week on God’s timeline look like for us?
Will God part the Red Sea and finally bring justice to corruption and deliver us from unjust rulers and slavery? Or will we see a resurrection of the Gospel message across our nation, revival, and repentance begin so that an even greater deliverance takes place?
With great expectation, we enter this week to declare HE IS RISEN! Death has been defeated. Fear can no longer rule. He is in control and can raise up one and bring down another.
Personally, I find it interesting that the Mario Murillo Miracle Service, which Kevin & I have been helping coordinate, falls on the last day of Passover this year. (Or the day before the last day for Orthodox Jews.) I believe it all signifies a day of deliverance!
Let us pray for our deliverance!
Father, we thank you and come before with hands lifted high in worship to acknowledge You as the true King and Lord over each of our cities, states and nation. May our worship be an offering pleasing to You. We thank You for Your sacrifice on the Cross and rejoice in Your resurrection and pray that in this hour for our nation, our cities and our homes that there will be a reverberation of the veil which was ripped from top to bottom. That it will again be felt as Your Glory is poured out.
We declare that You are Lord! We declare and align with Your calendar that this is a week of deliverance. Deliverance from evil rulers. Deliverance from slavery. Deliverance from sin. May revival be the wind that flows across our nation and bring a move of Your Spirit. Just as a mighty wind blew back the waters of the Red Sea and just as a mighty wind blew into the upper room, Father may a mighty wind blow across our land to bring Your Spirit and the revival for which we have prayed.
We stand fast, unmovable, unshakeable in our resolve to see Your Kingdom come, Your will to be done. We thank you Jesus for Your sacrifice that reunited us with You, with the Father. Pour out your Spirit on us again.
