It’s interesting and disturbing that a word search for “protection” pops up pictures of masks and condoms. That may be what the world sees as “protection.” However, as believers, our protection is in God and His Word.
I felt this week it was important to go back to this foundational prayer to pray over our families, cities, states and our nation. As we see fear rising regarding reports of the new COVID variant and mandated vaccines, it is essential that we remember WHO the true healer, protector and provider is.
As you know, Psalm 91 covers about every area we can think of—especially in present culture. It is our prayer this week. As we pray…please include Afghanistan in your prayers along with your city, state, family and America. As most of you know Kabul fell yesterday, taken over by the Taliban who are executing those who stood with America and tried to bring change to their nation. When Biden pulled our troops out, he abandoned them to this fate. It is urgent. Please pray Ps 91 over them and those who still need to get out. The situation is dire…
Heavenly Father, You have promised that as we dwell in the shelter of the Most High we can then REST in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” I also declare that Lord that (your city, state and America) are under Your shadow and that You are our fortress.
Surely You will save us from the snare of the trapper (and You see how they try to trap us in anything we do or say) and from the deadly pestilence. Father that includes the bio-weapons they have created from ticks, mosquitoes, viruses, aerosols, etc. YOU are our protector.
I declare that we are covered by Your feathers, and under Your wings we will find refuge for Your faithfulness will be our shield.
We will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. We declare the fear of COVID, any variant or any plague/disease must bow to the name of Jesus and that it is under our feet. We declare that although a thousand may fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand, it will not come near me, my family, (city/state) or this nation!
We will only observe with our eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. We stand fast and refuse discouragement over what seems delayed justice. For it will no longer delay, but will come. For the Lord is our refuge. We make the Most High our dwelling, therefore, no harm will overtake us, and no disaster will come near our homes or businesses. No matter what weapons they create to cause us harm, they will backfire and turn back upon them.
Thank you Lord that You command Your angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways. They will lift us up in their hands, so that we will not strike our foot against a stone. We will tread on the lion and the cobra. We will trample the great lion and the serpent—including COVID, famine, economic decline or joblessness. We declare that YOU are greater and YOU have already provided for all of our needs. And we WILL see the salvation of the Lord and your goodness in the land of the living.
Therefore listen my family. Listen (your city, your state) Listen America, for the Lord has seen our hearts and heard our prayers and He has said, “Because you love me, I will rescue you I will protect you, for you acknowledge my name. When you call on me, I will answer. I will be with you in trouble. I will deliver you and honor you. With long life I will satisfy you and show you my salvation.”
Lord, we humbly acknowledge Your name and Lordship over my family, (city/state) and America. Thank you for rescuing us, protecting us, delivering us, honoring us and satisfying us with Your salvation. We receive it!
