Last week the Lord spoke to me about the difference between courage and cowardice. What we need now, more than ever before is courage. But what we have seen more often than not in our governmental leaders, judges, pastors, and sometimes ourselves, has been cowardice.
In Rev. 3:7-8 we are told just how dangerous cowardice really is.
“But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Cowards are put in the same category as murderers, sexually immoral and sorcerers! They will be thrown in the fiery lake and will face the second death. However, the verse above it tells us, “The one who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son” (Rev 21:7).
It is the OVERCOMERS who are called God’s sons & daughters. And cowards…wow, it’s just not worth it. Remember, the difference between cowardice and courage is simply a decision.
So this week we pray courage into our leaders, nation, families and ourselves.
Lord, We ask, that like the disciples in Acts, after they were told they must stop speaking about You, they prayed, for more courage so they could speak more. Their prayer is ours, “So now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to Your servants to speak Your Word with all confidence. Lord, extend Your hand to heal. We pray for revival and we ask for signs and wonders to take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”
Bring revival Lord that will cause every knee to bow and every tongue to confess You as Lord!
Lord, we command this spirit of fear and cowardice that has tried to intimidate and silence Your Church and people to go. We pray for an infusion of Your strength and courage. You said You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. We declare it is ours and may the feelings follow.
We pray over our leaders, judges, pastors, and families that where there has been cowardice that you will infuse courage. You said that You shelter us under Your wings. Lord for those who fear reprisal or attack, show them You are well able to protect.
We ask You to fill our courts with judges who will judge righteously and with courage to stand. We pray for our leaders federally, by state and along with each county and city across our land that they will be godly leaders, who serve their constituents with honesty, integrity and right decisions. For those who refuse, who are there for their own gain and agenda, Lord we continue to pray Your Word that You would expose hidden motives and that they would be removed. Where they try to enact ungodly laws and amendments, Lord we pray first and foremost that they will humble themselves before You and be saved. But if they will not, Lord expose them, remove them and deliver us so that America can once again be called one nation under God.
We know You look down from heaven. You see all humankind. From where You sit enthroned, You watch all the inhabitants of the earth. You who fashions the hearts of us all, and observes all our deeds.
You said that a king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save. Truly Your eye is on those who fear You, on those who hope in Your steadfast love, to deliver our souls from death, and to keep us alive in famine.
Our soul waits for You oh Lord for You are our help and shield. Our heart is glad in You, because we trust in Your holy name. Let Your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in You.
