NOTE: Lots of important and unusual information this week. Please be sure to read the prayer need on page 3 as well! Thank you!

This week we are not only praying for our city, but for our state(s). Just as we pray for our city to be a city of righteousness and a shining light—so we pray for the states in which they are located. For some, while your city may be standing strong, your state government is not.

For others, as in my state of Oklahoma, the lawless are working desperately to change the laws and times and paying liberals to come live here to turn our state blue. We MUST be wise and aware of what is taking place as we pray.

The writers of our Constitution wisely granted only limited powers to the federal government. Sec. 1, Article 8 clearly states the federal government is to have limited or “enumerated powers.” This was done with the intention of allowing each state to remain sovereign granting them “numerous and indefinite power.”

Our founding fathers believed that the government closest to the people (the states) should be the strongest. Clearly, the federal government has taken over and tried to squash the power of each state. Often times with bribes to bail them out of trouble, but other times with simply a clear overreach of power.

That is where we begin to pray this week.

Our founding fathers put a provision in the Constitution should such overreach take place. Article 5 calls for a Convention of States which begins the necessary return of power.

To date, seventeen of the needed 34 states have passed a “Convention of States Resolution” which would restrict the runaway power grab of the current administration. Sadly, while the resolution passed easily in the House in South Dakota, it was killed in the Senate. Many other states have not yet decided their stand regarding this opportunity. This is an uphill battle to get the remaining 17 states needed to bring this to a vote and take back the power usurped by the federal govt for our states and our cities to be light in the darkness and to protect all citizens.

What the Convention of States resolution does is to reign in federal power, impose fiscal restraints on Congress, force them to balance the budget, prevent them from packing the Supreme Court and limit the terms on Congress—among other things.

The following states are now officially united in this historic effort to end the tyranny of Washington, D.C.: Georgia, Alaska, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Indiana, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arizona, North Dakota, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Utah, Mississippi, Wisconsin, and Nebraska!

We’re halfway to the finish line. Let’s finish the job—we begin with prayer.

Father, as I have prayed for (your city), I now pray for (your state). I pray that the power that has been usurped from the hands of our governors and the state congresses would be returned. We pray for a convention of states to overturn this illegal takeover of power. We pray for the additional 17 states needed to pass a convention of states. For congressional leaders who will have the courage to unite and pass a resolution for their state so that the powers granted to them in the Constitution will be returned and the powers usurped and expanded on by the federal government will be restricted back to the intent of our Constitution to protect the citizens of this nation.

We pray that the governors and attorneys general of our nation will begin to work together not for their personal good, but for the good of the people in their states and for the ongoing prosperity and vitality of the United States. May those who have been corrupted or blackmailed either turn around to justice or be exposed and removed.

You said the pride of man will be humbled and the loftiness of men will be abased for You alone will be exalted in that day. That idols will completely vanish and though the lawless intended evil and devised a plot, they will not succeed. For You will make them turn their back.

We call back the power invested in each state that has been stolen and removed to be returned. We pray for wise and just governors and attorneys general who will courageously stand for truth, justice and righteousness.

We declare over the leaders and people of (your city), (your state) and our nation that they will cease to do evil. They will learn to do good. They will seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan and plead for the widow.

You said when we seek You we will find You when we search for You with all our heart. And we will find You and You will restore our former state of prosperity and will gather us from all the nations and from the places where they have driven us. And You will bring us back from the place of depravity to which they have driven this nation.

For You know their works and their thoughts. But the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues so they shall see Your glory. We declare that it will take place. I declare that my state will join this resolution and that we will quickly come to a convention of states to challenge this corrupt administration and takeover. Hear our cry and help us Lord.
