We are all fully aware that June is “pride” month. But what does that mean for us as Christians when the Bible says,

“I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech” (Prov 8:13).

Pride month is about what? Pride in the fact that people, created in the likeness and image of God, are pridefully announcing their decision to live a lifestyle other than how they were created? To announce they are confused about their gender and sexuality?

I’m going to make a whole lot of people with gay family and friends mad over that statement. (PS—I have them in my family as well.) But consider the fact that 40 years ago, this issue was considered mental instability. Now it is celebrated as “pride.”

Pride month doesn’t work. Why? God hates pride, but He loves and has compassion on people. He hates sin, but loves the sinner. Those are the important things we need to remember as we pray. While we pray to take June back from this propaganda onslaught, we also remember there are wounded people involved in this movement who have been hurt, lied to, and then promoted and publicized to create a narrative. They are being used.

Edward Gibbon, author of “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire,” identified five marks of the decline of the Roman Empire:

1. art becoming freakish and sensationalistic instead of creative and original.

2. a widening disparity between the very rich and the very poor.

3. an increased demand to live off the state.

4. concern with displaying affluence instead of building wealth.

5. obsession with sex and perversions of sex.

America is in the final stages of decline, but that does not mean that this fight is over. God always does His best work in the impossible situations. America needs—and I believe is on the verge of an awakening and revival. This week let’s pray for those caught in the deception of this lifestyle, along with those who have been enraged because we don’t embrace it.

Father, we thank You that You are the God of love, mercy and compassion. We pray for those caught in this lifestyle of homosexuality and transgenderism. Those who have been applauded for “coming out” rather than offered help for the wounds and confusion that this lifestyle reveals. Heal their hearts and bodies from the wounds they have incurred whether physical, mental or emotional. Open their eyes to the truth of who and whose they are and that they are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Jesus came to proclaim good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, and to set the oppressed free. As His ambassadors here on the Earth, we also operate with that same power and declare freedom, healing and recovery for those imprisoned by this spirit of confusion and perversion. We pray that they will know the Truth and that the Truth will set them free from all which they have embraced that is not how You created them to be. That they would come to their senses and escape out of the snare of the devil that has held them captive to do his will.

We bind the spirit of confusion, pride and rage and cast it out. We declare your assignment over America, our children and all who are living under this lying spirit, is now broken. We loose the spirit of truth, humility and a sound mind over them. Where schools and liberal organizations have encouraged and promoted identity confusion to steal their identity and destiny, we declare their manipulations, witchcraft and confusion broken and that it can no longer manipulate their minds. We say “be loosed now” to all in which this confusion has been operating. Send laborers across their paths to instruct them and help guide then into the path of truth.

Where perversion and confusion has been promoted as normal and pushed down our throats via television, radio and news, we take back every avenue and venue to declare that no longer will our airwaves be used as indoctrination avenues of sexual immorality and decline but instead declare a return to morality and purity.

We declare that America will return to holiness and we will be holy as You are holy. May it be as in the days of William Wilberforce that as morality began to catch hold, that it became the “popular” thing to renounce sin and vices and turn toward God and holiness. That is called revival and it is time.

Bring revival to our land Lord so that You will be exalted and all creation will declare Your glory.
