I read two articles this recently which prompted this week’s prayer. It is the ongoing mismanagement and outright theft that is depleting our funds personally and from our nation. It is the shakedown of the American taxpayer.
The first article, from Judicial Watch, revealed the Social Security Administration (SSA) overpaid beneficiaries tens of billions of dollars this year. With a stated mission of ensuring “equity”, it made $23 billion in overpayments, after already mismanaging to the tune of $11.1 billion last year! If any of us worked at a job where we made those kind of “errors” (this is obviously intentional) we would be fired. But not here. Instead they just keep funneling more and more money into these agencies with OUR tax dollars.
The second article I read was a report how the out-of-control Biden administration is throwing $30 million dollars into a new program to try to discover what happened to the mismanaged $30 BILLION dollars the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) can’t seem to account for. (Note Biden increased their budget last year $2 billion! Why???) Reports reveal the agency, which operates loosely (emphasis on loose) under the State Department, has been plagued with wrongdoing. Well duh. A $30 billion dollar budget with little oversight? What do they expect? But someone is profiting off our $$.
Let’s not forget the billions sent to Ukraine and the recent announcement of the new purchase of two yachts worth $75 million dollars for President Zelinsky. They were allegedly named, “Lucky Me” and “My Legacy.” Here’s more on that story. What an in-your-face mockery to America with our money.
Another question is how much of the money sent to Ukraine and Iran has found its way back into the pockets of our government leaders? Where is the audit of those in Congress where millionaires are made. This is OUR money that they keep recklessly spending.
And the issue is not just in our federal government. In a city near me, an $800 million bond passed recently for things tax payers typically approve without question. (That’s how they sucker us.) Money supposedly for restoring bridges and roads, for the poor and homeless, schools and more. The problem? Money taxpayers had already been taxed for, for some of these same issues as much as 20 years before, STILL had not been done. Where is the money? The oversight? Who is getting the interest off those millions? Is it even still there? I tracked some of the money and found it had been moved to new accounts and new projects city councilors voted on. When I questioned one of the city councilors he denied the money was being moved around and insisted everything they had done was legal. Even if they have voted to make it legal, it’s not ethical! And yet it continues, because most citizens don’t try to track it and still trust government. Thus they vote in the very opportunity for theft and their own poverty.
History shows that is unwise. This week our prayer is over taxpayer money, poor stewardship and the national debt.
Father, you instructed us to be lenders and not borrowers and yet our city, state and federal governments have been spending us into oblivion. They create legislation with titles of bills and projects that sound good, but the project itself doesn’t match the title. We have been plagued with legislation passed that wastes our money and produces no beneficial results for America or Americans. Our money has been given to other countries, sometimes overtly/sometimes covertly, in the middle of the night on planes with no accountability. Tax bonds approved that send us further into debt for projects they don’t complete. Many have padded their own pockets, bought positions and curried favor with the use of OUR money. When questioned, they quickly deny what paperwork proves. Sometimes we can follow the money trail, but even when we can prove wrongdoing, what can we do? We pray for divine intervention that the corruption and mismanagement, at our expense, must stop.
Your Word says that those who are greedy for unjust gain trouble their own household, but he who hates bribes will live. We pray for leaders with integrity who hate bribes.
Where there are currently people in place who are either not up for the job, or who nefariously use our money for what it was not intended for, we pray that You would raise up a standard against those actions. Show us what we can do to stop this corruption, and we ask You to step in and do what we can’t.
Father we pray that we will be good stewards of the resources we have personally and pray for our elected officials that they will act with integrity and be good stewards with taxpayer money. We declare that their actions will be brought into the light so that we can see who is faithful with little, because we know they will also be faithful in much. Those who are dishonest even in a very little, expose it for all to see, because it is the red flag that are dishonest in much.
Where dishonest men/women are now are at top levels of leadership, who fear neither God nor man, who say in their heart, “There is no God,” we declare the corruption, illegal actions , and abominable deeds they have done in the darkness will be brought into the light and prosecuted.
We pray for elected officials who will walk with integrity and honesty as they do their jobs and handle govt money—our money. We pray for a president and Congress who will have wisdom and integrity to create a budget and then stay within it. Who will have wisdom and insight on how to decrease our National Debt rather than continuing to increase it. As that number has increased exponentially it seems impossible that it can be turned around—except God! We speak to that mountain of debt and the ongoing circumstances that need to change to stop the siphoning of our money, for it all to be cast into the sea. You have given us that authority and we use it now and declare turn around in our nation. We do not doubt in our hearts but we believe that what we say as we align with Your Word, will come to pass because we know that nothing is impossible with You. We pray for favor and protection over House Speaker Mike Johnson as he continues to try to put a stop to the overspending.
We declare fiscal responsibility and honesty to return to our government and that the national debt is shrinking. We pray for wise leaders, with wise plans on how to make that happen.
PS—If you have been praying for Donald Trump and his family and recognize the urgent need to surround them in prayer—join us for 5 minutes of prayer at noon below.
