Have you ever been bullied? Especially if you were taking a stand for righteousness? If so, this week will resonate with you.
When we lived in China we were followed, our phones tapped, our hotel rooms searched…The media parroted the propaganda of the Chinese government and truth was censored. It was a communist country, after all, and freedom was not allowed.
Fast forward thirty years and America looks no different. What is truth? What is a lie? Who do we trust?
We discover people we trusted in the past, who we now see were untrustworthy. Politicians who look us straight in the face and unflinchingly lie. When this happens, however, many people are unwilling to alter their already held belief in someone. As a result they continue to accept them as trustworthy even though actions say otherwise. Remember actions are indicators. They speak truth.
Many of us were blindsided by people like the Bushes, Mike Pence. Bill Barr… People that told us they were Christians and conservative…but the mask was removed.
They name-call, bully and mock Christians, conservatives, Constitutionalists, or “conspiracy theorists” —any of us who dare question the validity of the 2020 election. But this isn’t new. How long have they lied to us? Obama born in America? No weapons of mass destruction in Iran? The assassination of JFK by a lone shooter?
The term “conspiracy theory” was a tactic adopted by the CIA in an attempt to remove validity of facts which are/were right over the target. Although denied by the liberal media as “false,” the Church and Pike Commissions (two parallel committees run in the US House and Senate) exposed this tactic while investigating illegal activities by the CIA, FBI and NSA back in the ‘70’s. It is still one of their favorite tools today.
And it is used against those who work to expose lies who they quickly try to label “conspiracy theorists,” “deplorables,” “uneducated” and my personal favorite a “Karen” (sarcasm intended). We need to stop using THEIR terms.
This past week in Tulsa, OK the mayor went on television and radio to mock and name call one his own city councilors who dared question a hastily put bond to tax citizens another whopping $814 million. In his passive/aggressive bullying verbal onslaught, the mayor called the councilor “inexperienced” and “objecting just to object” in an effort to make people question the councilor. Why? Because the city councilor was right over the target of accuracy when he questioned what the mayor and other councilors were doing. When we see leaders belittling those serving under them OR the citizens who elected them, it reveals their heart and character. Pay attention.
When we see the liberal media all saying exactly the same thing, we know it is actually the opposite. They fear that the truth will be revealed. This week we focus our prayer to bind their efforts.
Lord you said the prudent & discerning see danger and take refuge, but the simple or naive keep going and pay the penalty. Help us to be among the prudent. Give us wisdom to understand the times. We hear many mocking and scoffing. “Conspiracy theory, conspiracy theory” to try to blind people to the facts and avoid wise counsel. Shine Your light on their deception.
Help us to recognize these tactics meant to discredit good people. Saul used these tactics against David. Sanballet & Tobiah did against Nehemiah. Hamon did against Mordecai. Those in a position of power, afraid of losing power, working to discredit the righteous. We pray protection, courage and strength for those who stand for righteousness refusing to bow to their intimidation. May we all have that courage.
Help us to encourage and strengthen our brothers & sisters who are on the front lines. As deceivers work to agitate and stir up the crowds against us, may others see our good works and glorify You as we let our light so shine before men that they may see You.
As modern day Nebuchadnezzar’s wield their power to throw the godly into a fiery furnace, just as you delivered them then, so deliver us now. We pray for every politician, judge, teacher, police officer, businessman and patriot who refuses to be silenced or bow to their pressure. Strengthen and protect them. Raise them up. You said, “Do not fear them for they can do no harm, neither can they do any good.” Restore the finances that the righteous have had to use to hire lawyers or security detail. Vindicate them where they have been unjustly maligned. Contend with those who contend with us and rescue us from the ungodly.
It’s time for these bullies and scoffers to be punished so the naive will becomes wise. For when the wise are instructed, we receive knowledge.
Where they have used fear as a weapon and caused many to quake, we declare faith over fear! We declare “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent! For the Lord is with us and no man will attack us in order to harm us for You have many people in this city, state and nation!”
