Happy Independence day! As we celebrate freedom and our independence may we take the time to thank God for our nation and reflect on what we fought to be independent of.

This week our prayer focus is for our “unalienable rights.” What does that phrase mean?

A simple definition would be that we have both legal and natural rights. The latter are rights independent of the laws of the land or culture. They are ours universally and fundamentally.

In our Constitution these are defined as our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These are currently under attack! Many have unwittingly handed over these rights due to fear and for the promise of “safety.” Those who fought and died so that we would live in a free nation would be appalled.

Our history is being rewritten. So is the meaning and foundation from which our Constitution was birthed. But our founding fathers, through God’s wisdom, wrote into our Constitution protections because they understood the evil nature of man.

For example: Alexander Hamilton stated in Federalist Paper #33

“If the federal government should overpass the just bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people, whose creature it is, must appeal to the standard they have formed, and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency (urgent situation) may suggest and prudence justify.”

(Note: The Federalist Papers are considered one of the most important sources for interpreting and understanding the original intent of the Constitution.)

America was birthed when courageous men and women were ready to break off the yoke of power hungry leaders who were preventing life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Even as those who wrote and signed our Constitution labored to be free from the slavery and censorship of England, they recognized the same tyranny they faced could—and most likely would—raise its ugly head again.

They were wise men. And here we are, as they suspected, in the fight of our lives to maintain our freedom. As we celebrate the freedom that has been, let us pray for it to remain.

Father God we thank you for America and the privilege of living in a nation in which we have experienced the freedom to worship You and have the ability to prosper and benefit from our hard work. That despite the rewriting of our history, America is a country that fought to remove slavery not start it. And yet our schools are teaching our students otherwise. Many have come to hate our country as their minds have been twisted by those intent on destroying this nation. Father we pray that their lies will be stopped and for truth to once again prevail. We thank You for the blessings you bestowed on this nation and repent that we have drifted so very far from our love and honor of You. Forgive us Lord. May we return to our foundations of “In God We Trust!”

Rumors are that this month the Federal Reserve—(which has nothing to do with our federal government) will begin to flip the switch to turn our money into a Central Bank digital currency and gaining even further control over OUR money. We know that this has been prophesied from long ago, but pray for Your protection, help and provision even as they seek to make us dependent on them. Lord our eyes have finally been opening to the tyrannical movements of power hungry billionaires who have implemented institutions and rules of deception to harm America, Americans and the world. They follow the footsteps of their father, Satan, to steal, kill and destroy. We pray that those who have for years worked deviously behind the scenes manipulating elections, money, medicine, food, etc for our harm and their good would receive back their due in the boomerang effect that has been prophesied.

Lord how long will you look on? Rescue our souls from their ravages. For they do not speak peace, but devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land. They have opened their mouth wide against those who serve You—against innocent men and women—against President Trump and others who seek to run for office who could thwart their plans. They are infected with Satan’s agenda to rule the world and seek to destroy any who stand in their way—which not only includes Trump—but us. They have said, “Aha Aha our eyes have seen it!” But You have seen their lies and their intent. Do not keep silent. Do not be far from us as they seek to steal our freedom, our food and our land.

Forgive us for how we have turned our back on You. Let not the foot of pride come upon us and let not the hand of the wicked drive us away. We ask that You would drive them away. May they be like chaff in the wind with the angel of the Lord driving the on. Let their way be dark and slippery with the angel of the Lord pursuing them. Let destruction come upon them unawares and let the net which they have hid catch them in the very destruction of which they planned.

We kneel before You as in the days of Esther in which destruction had been planned for her people. Lord destruction has been planned for Your people. But we know that You are greater. You are the mighty God and in Your name we will overcome.

Give us the courage that you gave Paul and the disciples of the First Century Church. That even as they were threatened, mocked, beaten and sometimes jailed, they refused to be silent but continued to proclaim Your Name. Give us strength, courage and wisdom. We refuse to fear for our eyes are on You. We pray for revival in our land and for hearts to recognize their need for You. We declare that Jesus is Lord over America and that Your Light will shine again from this nation. We refuse to give up for You are greater. You are victorious and it is Your plans that will prevail.

Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer
