In the days of the evil reign of King Ahab and Jezebel, their sins, worship of Baal and corruption had become a stench. We are told “He did more to make the Lord God of Israel furious than all the kings of Israel who came before him” (I Kings 16:33). As a result Elijah prophesied that neither rain nor dew would fall. The result was severe famine upon the land. By the third year, desperation had set in and even the king was feeling the result. King Ahab was then willing to meet with Elijah
“Bring all the prophets of Baal and all the people and have them meet on Mount Carmel,” he instructed. It was time for a showdown.
If you aren’t familiar with the story go to I Kings 18. A bull was sacrificed and whichever group—the 400 false prophets of Baal—or Elijah— could call down fire from heaven to consume the sacrifice, would prove whose god was truly God.
In this important exchange—on the mountain top—the frauds and false leaders were exposed and destroyed and in one day removed. The fear of the Lord returned upon the people and they fell to the ground in worship. THEN Elijah prophesied to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain” (I Kings 18:41).
That’s what happens when corruption and false leaders are removed. Restoration. Although Ahab and Jezebel had not yet been dealt with, their legs had been cut out from under them.
Spiritually there is an order to everything. We are heading into that season where the fear of God will return and the frauds, false witnesses and corrupt leaders will be exposed and removed. God will clearly be shown as God and the rain will begin. Some will be fearful of the storm and resulting wind and rain. But those who know their God will welcome it. This is where we need to pray.
Father, we thank you that you are Lord or all! We declare that You are the Creator, the King of kings, the Righteous Judge and Your glory and power are undeniable. May the fear of God return as You are glorified.
As in the days of Elijah, may the fake leaders, false prophets and those who have positioned themselves into authority that is not theirs be exposed and removed. We will look around for them and they will be as nothing and non-existent. As Your cleansing fire comes upon the earth may it wipe away the cabal of corruption, illegalities, lies, fraud, perversion, pride, offense, deception, rage and insanity that has tried to establish itself on the throne and may the true God and Lord of all take Your rightful place. We prophesy to the heavens, “Let it rain!”
Father as this evil is removed, give us strength to stand. As we see people we never would have imagined shown to be complicit in these schemes, give us the courage to not ignore it, or make excuses for it, but to allow You to do Your work. Through your mercy, they have been given time to repent. For those who have hardened their hearts, Father we know they have sealed their own fates. But for those whose eyes were blind, we pray that they will yet repent and bow to You. May it be Lord. Let is rain.
May our hearts not fail us during the storm and chaos. We pray that the spirit of fear will not take hold, but instead let us see with eyes of the spirit to what you are doing and may revival fire fall upon our nation and upon the world in response to the cry of Your people. Cleanse us. Cleanse the land and let it rain.
You have heard our cries Lord for the unborn, for those trafficked, for those suicidal or imprisoned by drugs, alcohol and perversion who are self-medicating from life. As Your Spirit is poured out, may the fear of God and love of God be so overwhelming that we will see mass multitudes fall on their faces before You to repent and be healed.
Father help us to be ready. The Church is not yet ready to handle the numbers who are coming into the Kingdom. Help us be ready. Give us wisdom how to reach out and help as we brace for impact of this coming storm that will cleanse our nation—-cleanse the world—-and expose and remove that which has tried to establish itself as god.
We command the spirit of deception which has kept people from seeing and knowing the truth to bow its knee and may truth prevail. Justice Lord. We call forth justice and we prophesy that we hear the sound of the abundance of rain.
