I participate on a prayer call each week for a key state official up for re-election. His opponent has no morals, no integrity and has received millions in dark money donations in an effort to slyly turn our state from red to blue. The race is very, very tight. It would be easy to be discouraged in the face of the evil lies, threats and dark money. BUT GOD!
As I was praying over the situation the Lord highlighted an event from the past that reveals how we all need to pray for our cities and states. This is not only over the elections and upcoming primaries taking place now, but this also about when a siege is planned to block food and water. God is pretty specific isn’t He?
What He said is He will defend our cities and our states—as we continue to take pray and take action.
You can read the entire account of what He revealed that you can do as well by clicking here. However, for our prayer this week, I will keep to the highlights as we pray this out. This comes from the story in 2 Kings 18-20 regarding King Hezekiah and the Assyrian king who was working to put their city under siege and who threatened to take Hezekiah’s kingdom. We pray this over our nation as they attempt the same.
Father, just as Hezekiah did in days of old, we humble ourselves before you and declare that You are Lord of all. Nothing changes that. We enter into Your Presence and offer a prayer as the Remnant who call You by name.
You are God alone. You are enthroned above all. You have made the heavens and the earth. Incline Your ear to us O Lord. Open Your eyes and listen to the words of those who threatened us for they have sent a reproach against You—the living God!
But now Lord our God, we pray, deliver us from their hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone are God! All eyes are on America, O Lord, show Yourself strong.
Lord you see how those intent on removing You and destroying our nation have lied and made threats, we now spread them out before You. They say You will not deliver us. They mock You and say “Where is your God?” They have made their intentions clear O Lord.
“Proud,” “Haughty,” and “Scoffer,” are their names who act with insolent pride. But the arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled for You alone Lord will be exalted in that day!
You said You see when they sit down, when they come in and when they go out. All of it. And because they rage against You and because of their arrogance You will put a hook in their nose and a bridle in their lips, and turn them back from where they came.
You see their determination and evil plan to destroy our food, water and the prosperity of this nation to force us into slavery to them. Deliver us O Lord as You have done in the past.
According to Your Word, we declare that by the way they have come is the same way they shall return and they shall NOT conquer (your city and your state). For You said You would defend us!
We pray over the primaries taking place and the upcoming general elections that they will not be stolen. We declare that every and all irregularities and attempts to illegally change the outcome will be revealed and stopped. We pray for integrity in the poll workers, voting machines, election boards and judges. For men will make their motions and cast their votes, but You have the final say! We pray that righteousness will win and prevail.
Lord as they have tried to destroy our food and water and create famine across the globe, we ask for Your mighty intervention just as You intervened in the days of Hezekiah as he bowed his face before You. So we bow our faces before You Lord as Your Remnant. We cry again for restoration of our food and water because You said that You supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. There is no lack in Heaven and so we declare there will be no lack here. What they have attempted to poison will not harm us for if we eat any deadly thing and it shall not harm us.
We ask that You will protect our crops and that of the farmers. Even if they incite famine, we will eat this year of what grows of itself, in the second year what grows from the same and in the third year we can then sow, reap, plant vineyards and eat our fruit. We pray that our food and water will no longer be tainted, but once again be restored to what You created it to be healthy and nourishing. Thank You Lord for exposing what we did not know and what we could not see. And now we also thank You for deliverance from it all that Your glory be revealed, lives will be transformed and America will be saved.
