We have watched in horror as Afghanistan closed with American citizens, allies, innocents and even military service dogs trapped behind enemy lines. Each day carries more heartbreak as we learn the truth of what was done.

A word the Lord spoke to me is that we are to pray for rescue not only for them but for many trapped behind “enemy lines” which not only refers to an evil government, but for those who have been trapped in trafficking, babies targeted for abortion, people trapped in drug and alcohol abuse—which is being legalized to enslave people. There are also those who need rescue from the overwhelming fear shoved down our throats daily over COVID and other health threats, those who are stalked and bullied, and finally those who are tormented in their minds, enslaved to their past.

The Lord said, “Pray for their rescue, because that is what I will do.” Ironically, even as I heard those words, I received a call from the wife of one of our federal representatives regarding a needed rescue of Afghani orphans. After I wrote and submitted an article to bring it to national attention, it was pulled for no reason!

Satan is trying to prevent rescue, but let me tell you God is greater and He is the God of rescue.

Rescue requires courageous action by those working behind the scenes and on the ground. But for their success, it also requires fasting and prayer by intercessors. We are integral to this process. Recent prophetic words have confirmed that September is an important time of fasting and prayer. It coincides with three Jewish feasts this month which are always a prophetic symbol.

(Click here to read more about this important month and how to align with what God is doing.)

Lord, we align with your word to fast and pray this month for rescue of those who are trapped, imprisoned and enslaved. With our prayers and declarations we blow the trumpet in Zion and make Your invitation known. We consecrate a fast and call a sacred assembly. We gather together all across the globe to sanctify the congregation, to assemble the elders, to gather the children and nursing babes. It is time for the bridegroom go out from his chamber, and the bride from her dressing room. We assemble before You Lord in prayer.

As the world watches, Father we cry out to you, “RESCUE!” Why should onlookers say, “Where is their God?” Lord may You be exalted and glorified in all that transpires and may the world see that You are the mighty God of all creation!

And so Lord we pray for those who have been left behind. For those imprisoned, in fear, in despair, in hopelessness. For those enslaved whether by their past or their present. We pray that Your Word will go out and set the captive free.

We pray for those who have enacted this evil. Lord you know if they can yet be saved. We pray that the deception that has covered and clouded their minds would be removed and we pray that they can see and know the light of your truth. We pray even among the Taliban that there would be massive repentance and revival as those who determined to stay behind, risking their lives, are preaching the Gospel. Lord, we know that Your Word doesn’t return void, but accomplishes that which you please and prospers in the thing it was sent forth to do.

We pray for global repentance, revival and awakening to Your Truth.

We pray for those overcome by fear. Lord I pray that faith will arise and be a consuming fire to wipe out every trace of fear. We shut out all words contrary to what You say. We choose to speak words of life, love and truth. We will no longer be prisoners of fear, but will be Your prisoners of hope.

You have said that nations who do not know us shall run to us, because of the Lord our God, and the Holy One of Israel; for You have glorified us. May America once again be a hub and launch of revival and outpouring of Your Spirit. Lord, we cry RESCUE!

My friend, Jamie Rohrbaugh shared a word from the Lord that is pertinent to this time and which I want to share to encourage your hearts:

“I have heard your travail and your groaning. I am listening to your cries as they arise to Me. And beloved, your cries are making all the difference. You cannot stop now. I do not want you to stop travailing; to stop groaning; to cease crying out to Me for help. Indeed, Your cries are keeping the earth from disaster. You do not know it, but your prayers are fervent and effective and I need you to continue crying out to Me so that I can save and rescue many around the earth!”
