Kim Potter’s granddaughter made the most amazing comment this past week. The two weren’t even talking, when her granddaughter lifted her head from a coloring project and blurted out, “Nana, if you don’t want to keep being the target, then be the weapon.” She had no idea that Kim had at that moment been praying quietly and asking the Lord for insight. She got it in a word from the Lord “from the mouths of babes.” (I encourage you to read the full article and what the Lord told Kim afterwards.)
Have you felt like a target recently? I know I have! And many of you have sent emails that let me know you have too. I don’t think I have ever experienced a time in which the spiritual attacks to weary the saints have been so intense or relentless.
If that is you, then join me as we turn the tables this week and get back on the offensive rather than fighting from the defensive. We cannot allow ourselves to be moved, depressed or discouraged by what we see in the natural. Instead, we must be like David, full of courage knowing God has equipped us to RUN TO the giant and defeat it.
As we look at that story here is some additional insight regarding the Philistine, Goliath. According to the Name Translation Bible, the name Goliath meant “exile” and Philistine meant “bringer of grief.”
Goliath was intent on removing (exiling) the children of Israel from their land and destiny. He was intent on bringing them grief. BUT GOD, turned the tables and Goliath was the one exiled out—all the way out of life. David wasn’t intimidated by what he saw and we cannot allow ourselves to be intimidated by what we see.
Part of being on the offensive is remembering although:
· Goliath LOOKED impossible to beat.
· Even though fear gripped the entire Israelite army.
· Even though David was just a youth…
Courage and faith rose up within him so that David prophesied and proclaimed Goliath’s defeat. He looked straight into the eyes of impossible and then ran toward it, not in fear away from it.
How does this apply to us?
· Even though the Deep State and globalist takeover looks impossible to beat…
· Even though fear has gripped the hearts of many…
· Even though we seem inexperienced and out of our league against this mighty foe…
Even so we must rise up in courage and faith and prophesy to this “Goliath” (along with any others facing you and your family) and proclaim their defeat. This week we look straight at the impossible and run toward it with our stone of prayer in our sling.
Throw off fear and proclaim Goliath’s defeat. Run to, not from, the battle in prayer.
Heavenly Father,
You are the Lord God of all the earth and NOTHING is too difficult for You. We thank you that You are with us and empower us now. We, your servants, have killed the “lion” and the “bear” in past battles and we cast away fear that has tried to come upon us. We declare that these “Philistines”—these bringers of grief who have risen up against us, against our families, against our nation, against Your people, will be like one of them since they have taunted the armies of the living God.
Lord we pick up our “stones” of prayer, the Word of God, fasting (each Wednesday), communion and peace and we run to this battle.
Today, we remember Who You are and declare what You have done in the past.
· You created the world with Your words.
· You delivered the Israelites from slavery.
· You parted the Red Sea and so Your children walked across safely on dry ground.
· You caused the water to close back on their enemies even when it looked like the Israelites were trapped and had no way out.
You delivered:
· Daniel from his accusers and shut the lion’s mouths.
· Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fiery furnace.
· Esther and the Jews from the rage of Hamon and the king’s decree of death.
· David from Saul’s murderous intent to destroy him.
· Peter from jail, opened the prison doors and led him out safely.
· the widow and her two sons from starvation and death when they were completely without food.
· (declare your own deliverances and miracles of the past)
· the widow woman even as she faced an unjust judge and he gave her justice.
And so Lord we ask for justice amidst this corruption, evil and overwhelming odds before us. We pick up the smooth stone of prayer and we hurl it at these giants.
Like David we prophesy and say through prayer we cut off the head of the of the evil behind the Taliban and Isis’. May their communication, leadership, and finances be confused, in chaos and defeated. May they run in fear as they recognize that the Lord of hosts has led this charge. May their actions to overrun Afghanistan and harm the people be stopped. We pray freedom and deliverance for every American and ally trapped there as well as the Afghani people. Lord we ask for your angelic host to protect them and deliver them from this evil giant bringing grief.
We cut off, in prayer, the heads of evil which in corrupt administrations which are making decisions that put their citizens in danger. This includes America, China, Australia, Afghanistan, North Korea, Cambodia, Russia, European Union, etc. We fell this giant with the stone of prayer and declare that “The Lord will deliver you into our hands.” Lord restore all that has been stolen individually and corporately.
May America (your nation) fall on her knees and cry out for You to see revival, salvations, healings and miracles take place as we have never seen before. Open the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf.
We pray for all who are infected with COVID and all who are experiencing adverse reactions due to the vaccine. We cast out the spirit of fear and cut off its head and declare these deaths and this disease to bow to the Lord God Almighty who has purchased our SOZO—healing and salvation. We speak to this foul disease and we say go back to the pit from which you came and do not return.
We speak to the giant of communism, socialism, lies, murderous spirit, and evil, intent on taking over the world. We come into agreement with Your Word Lord and what have declared from the beginning. NOTHING can in no way stop, speed up, or deter Your timetable or what You have proclaimed. What Satan has meant for evil, we declare it will instead bring revival, restoration, a spirit of repentance and desire for holiness to flood America and the world as people’s eyes are finally opened to recognize who is truly evil and Who is righteous and who are covered in His righteousness.
As we declare what you have done in the past, we declare that You will do it again. You will never leave us or forsake us. You have not abandoned the Afghans, Americans, Asian, Australians, European Union, Africans, or Middle Eastern believers, etc who now face persecution and even death for Your name. We look this evil giant in the eyes and declare, “You come at us with a sword, a spear and a javelin, but we come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel and (your country), whom you have taunted. THIS DAY, the Lord will deliver you up into our hands and He will strike you down and remove your head from you.”
Finally, we pray over our families, (your city and state) Governor (name), Mayor (name) our City Councilors, School Board members and law enforcement. We pray for righteous leaders and for their protection. We pray that all unrighteousness, corruption, election fraud, etc be revealed. Shine Your light to reveal all in the full light of day. We know that as our cities prosper, so will we prosper. Let (city) be a city of revival in which Your spirit is poured out and people are set free.
