In biblical days, Daniel was confronted and tempted several times to take a bribe. He was also threatened to remain silent and bow to ungodliness. It is no different than what many of our governmental officials face today.
Those in leadership positions both city, state and federally who have boldly spoken out against criminality taking place in our nation and stood for truth have been targeted by those jealous and intent to remove them.

How we respond to these threats and bribes determines both our outcome and in part, theirs.
In the days of King Belshazzar (who reigned after Nebuchadnezzar) a disembodied hand was seen writing 4 words on the wall. Daniel was offered a large gift to interpret the words.
Daniel didn’t hesitate in his response to the king as he said, “Keep your gifts!” before giving the interpretation.
Americans and others across the globe find ourselves in an era in which people are being either threatened or bribed to change their vote or their stance.
However, if we bow, we subject ourselves to the same judgement Belshazzar experienced when the hand of God wrote, “Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin.” Which means, “God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it. You have been weighed on the scales and found deficient. Your kingdom has been divided…”
As we pray for our city, state and nation this week along with our officials, let us pray that they (and we) will be able to stand with courage and say, “Keep your gifts!”
Lord, You said You require two things from leaders. That they are just and that they fear You. The administration hijacking our nation does neither. Like Belshazzar in day of old, may the handwriting be on the wall and their days numbered. May their kingdom put to an end as they have been weighed in the scales and found wanting in every way.
Father, You have said there is judgement when people vote in rulers who do not fear and honor You and who do not stand for justice. But Lord You see all things. The majority in America DID NOT ignore Your requirement for just and God-fearing leaders. You saw the deception and fraud Lord. Do not hold us accountable for their theft. Do not discard America for these immoral and unworthy leaders who have proudly created unjust and immoral laws against babies in the womb, and against your laws and all American citizens.
You have said the lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down for You alone shall be exalted in that day. As the Remnant standing in the gap for (your city), (your state) and this nation, Lord we humble ourselves before You and repent that we allowed this takeover and for things to get to this place. Forgive us Lord.
Now Lord we ask that just as Belshazzar was removed suddenly, we ask that You would step in and show yourself strong. Remove these unrighteous haughty leaders who do not fear You. We ask for a suddenly by Your hand so the whole world will see that You have found them wanting.
Had the majority voted for Biden and Harris, Lord then we would understand that what is happening would be a result of our failure. But we didn’t! We are standing as the majority for righteousness. We are not backing down. We are not taking “no” for an answer. Because even as the widow repeatedly went before the unjust judge asking for justice, Lord we repeatedly come before the Just Judge knowing how much more will our Father in heaven give justice to His children!
Lord you see the illegal aliens who have come because they were invited and coerced. You see how they have been crammed into too small spaces and then those who have been released all over our nation. Lord we pray for them now. For those just wanting a better life, Lord we pray that they can come to know You. Hear their cry Lord. For those who have come intent to bring drugs, traffick and destroy our nation, Lord we pray a hedge of protection around our borders and our border agents and we declare that a hedge will be built up to keep them out either by visible or invisible means. May this destructive plan be stopped.
So Lord, we pray for leaders who will rule over man justly and who will rule in the fear of God and that they will be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning with no clouds, gleaming after the rain like grass from the land. You said, blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord! We choose You Lord. Hear our cry for we are Your people.
Declaration: Lord give us leaders that it will bring You glory and give us victory over evil and unrighteousness through them.
